Sarah J. Maas Book Covers Gif

A Court of Thorns and Roses (Series) by Sarah J. Maas

It is a disgrace, and yet a blessing, that I didn’t read these books sooner.

Fortunately for me, once I devoured these books in 2-3 days, the next book was ready and waiting for me. I am soooo late to join the club of people that treasure these books, but I’m happy to finally be here.

Each book in this series depicts struggle, and conflicts that are not easily resolved. Our main characters make plenty of mistakes. They don’t immediately recover from hardship simply because they’re immortal. Sarah J. Maas is an expert at letting things play out over time. Key moments in book 2 (A Court of Mist and Fury) bring clarity to moments in book 1.

Each story is strong enough to stand alone, but it’s foolish to deprive yourself of the full story threaded together. Each book in this series gets a 5-star rating from me.

Spoilers are coming, leave now if you wish.

Clearly Rhysand is the be all, end all, of why we love this series. Always so wise, ever patient, and always providing his loved ones with choice. The way that Rhys loves Feyre is what girls dream of finding in the real world. Clearly Sarah J. Maas knows how to melt a reader’s heart and beg her to do so again, and again, so long as Rhysand’s story continues.

“Feyre, my darling….” **swoons**

The fan art of Rhys is beautiful but doesn’t capture him for me. Here’s my idea of Rhys but imagine the black “membrane” wings.
