The attempt to free magic could have been left alone. Most of the people in town survived the wrath of the quatrefoil, that’s a win for most people! It wasn’t enough for Cadence de Morel. Against the wishes of her boyfriend Slate, Cadence places the blood ring on her hand and begins their challenges from where book one left off.

Their team is better equipped this time around. Having survived so much together, and learning new answers even Cadence’s father didn’t know, this should be easy. Of course though, it’s even worse this time. The losses are bigger. The danger is non-stop. And someone of their troupe is cursed which leads to some crazy circumstances amongst them. I wish I could explain this HUGE plot twist but it’s a major spoiler!

Trust me when I say these books are more than worth your time. The audio books are so well read, it’s one of the best I’ve listened to.
